About The Role

Purpose
To lead and manage the Trainee Adviser Programme, providing end-to-end ownership of the Academy and ensuring a consistent, high-quality development experience from recruitment through to Competent Adviser Status (CAS).

The Trainee Adviser Manager will have formal line management responsibility for Trainee Advisers, Associate Advisers, and Consultants, overseeing their professional development, qualifications, performance, wellbeing and career progression.

Whilst this Manager retains overall accountability for each trainee’s development journey, day-to-day work allocation, operational coaching and client servicing remain the responsibility of the relevant Pod Leader.
 
The role is responsible for ensuring the Amicus Adviser Academy delivers technically competent, commercially capable advisers whilst maintaining high standards of advice quality, operational excellence and governance.

Responsibilities 
Programme Leadership:
Lead the Amicus Adviser Programme, supporting recruitment through to Competent Adviser Status (CAS)
Working with the Executive Sponsor & People and Culture team to design, coordinate and continuously improve the Amicus Adviser Academy
Deliver Amicus Academy induction programmes and classroom-based training
Work with the Learning & Development Specialist to develop and maintain the Amicus Academy curriculum and learning materials
Ensure consistency across all trainee cohorts

People Management & Coaching:
Act as the formal line manager for Trainee Advisers, Associate Advisers and Consultants
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings
Complete probation, performance and development reviews
Manage annual leave, sickness absence and wellbeing
Support promotions and career progression
Identify and manage performance concerns alongside Pod Leaders

Learning & Development:
Support with coordination of classroom-based technical training
Coordinate professional qualifications, ensuring Trainees are on track to complete their Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning
Approve examination bookings and study plans
Work with the Operations team to ensure Trainees receive training on:
- Xplan
- Operational business processes and standards
- Xplan coaching and support
- One Best Way standards

Governance & Reporting:
Produce monthly Amicus Academy MI
Report programme performance to Directors, Monthly Business Reviews and People & Culture

About You

Knowledge
Degree or equivalent experience is essential
Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning is essential
Coaching qualification is desirable
